Overview

New government regulations require federal documents to be written in a clear, concise, “plain language” style. Throughout the acquisition cycle, it is important for acquisition and program management professionals to keep the attention of the project stakeholders, and clearly communicate requirements, risks, problems, outcomes, and more. This concise one-day class delivers a solid framework you can use to improve your writing style, plus strategies to implement the requirements of the 2010 Plain Writing Act and the Federal Plain Language Guidelines in each stage of the procurement. Hands-on exercises will help you streamline jargon-laden briefings and write compelling plans of action. You will walk through the acquisition cycle highlighting the various documents at each phase that can benefit from a plain language writing style. One of our top instructors for this course was recently honored with a prestigious award and Commander’s coin. The Commanding Officer of a major Marine base presented the instructor with the coin and Certificate of Appreciation for providing excellent acquisition training. The award praised the instructor’s professionalism and expertise while teaching Effective Writing for Acquisition and noted the transfer of knowledge will leave a lasting influence on the quality of the Contracting Office.
